My POP client times out before I can access my mail. What should I do?

Occasionally your desktop email software may show you a "timed out" message before you have been able to send or receive mail. Generally this message means that too many Yahoo POP users have tried to access their email at the same time, and the POP "pipe" to the computers that store your email has simply gotten clogged.

Please try connecting to your account again. If you see the "timed out" message repeatedly, please try to access your email using the Yahoo Web interface: In most cases, the slowdown affects only POP access to your account, and you'll be able to send and receive messages successfully using your browser. In the rare case that you can't access your email with either your POP software or the Web interface, please contact us.
