What's the difference between POP access and forwarding?

POP access and forwarding are two ways to receive your email:

  • Email forwarding allows you to automatically send any messages received in your Business Email account to a different email address.

  • With POP (Post Office Protocol) access, you can send and receive your Business Email using a desktop program (such as Outlook or Thunderbird). Depending on how you configure your email program, messages can either remain in your Yahoo Business Email account or be deleted when you download them to your email program.

Tip: If you plan to use POP, you may want to turn off any filters that sort email to folders other than your Inbox (since POP retrieves messages only from the Inbox and Spam folders).
You can either POP your email or forward it — but not both at the same time. If you'd like to use POP, you'll need to disable your mail forwarding (and vice versa).
