Use other email accounts in Yahoo Mail

Consolidate your email accounts! Send and receive emails with your other Yahoo and non-Yahoo addresses by adding them to your Yahoo Mail account.


Adding your other email accounts

+ Add an account

You can add up to five email accounts in Yahoo Mail.

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon Small gear icon | select Settings.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Enter the account's email address and a description.
  5. Select Set up to Receive emails and enter the account's info.

     Not receiving emails in your other account? Make sure to select Override default POP port 995 under "POP settings."

  6. Click Save.

A verification email is sent to the address you added. Follow the steps in that email to finish adding the account.

+ Trouble verifying an account?

If you didn't receive the verification email, you can resend it.

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon Small gear icon | select Settings.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. Click Not verified beside the account.
  4. Click Resend Email to verify the account.

If you're still not receiving the email, please contact the provider of the account you are adding.

Sending and receiving email with your other accounts

+ Sending email

Yahoo Mail lets you send messages from any account you've added from one easy location.

  1. Click Compose.
  2. Select your preferred email address in the "From" pull-down menu.
  3. Address your email.
  4. Compose your email.
  5. Click end.

+ Setting your default sending account

The default sending account defines which email address is pre-populated when you create a new message.

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon Small gear icon, | select Settings.
  2. Select your preferred email address from the "Default sending account" drop-down menu.
  3. Click Save.

+ Receiving and checking email

Emails will arrive in your Inbox or the folder you defined when you added the account.

To check for new mail, mouse over Inbox in the left navigation column | click the Check for new email icon.

Modifying and removing your accounts

+ Edit an account

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon Small gear icon | select Settings.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. Select the account.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Make your changes.
  6. Click Save.

+ Delete an account

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon Small gear icon | select Settings.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. Select the account.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. Click OK to confirm.
