Password troubleshooting for iOS devices

Having trouble signing in to your Yahoo account on your iOS device? Here's basic troubleshooting steps to help you fix this issue.


Note: Prior to attempting these troubleshooting steps, sign in to our mobile homepage (via your desktop). If you can successfully sign in on your desktop, your password is not experiencing any technical issues.

If you recently changed your password via your desktop computer, you'll need to also update your iOS device with your new password.

Updating your iOS device with your new password

  1. Tap the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap the Yahoo account that you need to edit.
  4. Under "Password," enter your new password.

If you're still unable to sign in, it may be necessary to remove and re-add your Yahoo account from the iOS device.

Removing and re-adding your Yahoo account

  1. Tap the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Scroll down, then tap Delete Account.
  4. On your desktop computer, complete the iOS Troubleshooting Assistant from Apple Support. 
    Note: You will be instructed about how to reboot your iOS device which should resolve common email, synching, and network issues.
  5. Re-enter your account information on your iOS device as if you were a new customer.
