Set your default search engine to Yahoo Search

You can make Yahoo Search the default search engine in your Web browser with a few quick steps.


  Save time! Install Yahoo Toolbar to get Yahoo Search available at the top of your browser.

+Internet Explorer

Steps verified in version 11

  1. In the upper-right corner of Internet Explorer, Click the Settings icon (gear icon).
  2. Select Manage add-ons.
  3. Click Search Providers.
  4. Select Yahoo, from the list.
  5.   Don't see Yahoo? You can install Yahoo Search from the Internet Explorer Gallery.

  6. Click Set as default.
  7. Click Close.

+Firefox

Steps verified in version 28

  1. Go to the search bar in the top-right corner of Firefox.
  2. Click the downward arrow next to the search engine icon.
  3. Select Yahoo from the drop-down menu.
  4.   Don't see the Yahoo Search option? From the drop-down menu, select Manage Search Engines.

+Safari

Steps verified in version 5.1.7

  1. Go to the search bar in the top-right corner of Safari.
  2. Click the downward arrow next to the search engine icon (a magnifying glass), and a drop-down menu appears.
  3. Select Yahoo from the list.

+Chrome

Steps verified in version 33

  1. Click the Settings icon Three horizontal lines.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Under "Search," choose Yahoo from the drop-down menu.
