I can't use my security questions to reset my password
We take your account security seriously. To protect your account from unauthorized access, you may be temporarily unable to use your security question to change your password.
Here's how it works
- Your questions will be locked for 24 hours if you have accessed your account recently and an attempt to receive a password using the secret questions is performed.
- Once the 24 hours is up, you can again request to use your security questions to reset your password using the Yahoo Password Helper.
- If you have an alternate email address or a mobile number associated to your Yahoo account, you will not be able to see the option to answer the security questions right away. Attempt to reset your password first using your alternate address or mobile number.
