Internet Explorer won't save my password

The option to have your username and password remembered on the Yahoo Sign-in page is a feature that Internet Explorer offers called AutoComplete. If you've asked for this info to be remembered in Internet Explorer preferences and it's still not working, there are a few steps you can take to try and fix it.


Fix AutoComplete

  1. Check that you're not clearing your cache and cookies when you close your browser
    1. Select Tools | Internet Options.
    2. Select the General tab.
    3. Under Browsing history, if Delete browsing history on exit checkbox is checked, uncheck it.
    4. Click Apply | OK.
  2. Double-check your AutoComplete settings

    Internet Explorer 6: 

    1. Select Tools | Internet Options.
    2. Select the Content tab.
    3. Under "Personal information" click AutoComplete.
    4. Make sure the User names and passwords on forms checkbox is checked.
    5. Click OK twice.
    6. Restart Internet Explorer.
    7. Return to Yahoo and sign in.

    Internet Explorer 7 to 10: 

    1. Select Tools | Internet Options.
    2. Select the Content tab.
    3. Under "AutoComplete", click Settings.
    4. Make sure the User names and passwords on forms checkbox is checked.
    5. Click OK twice.
    6. Restart Internet Explorer.
    7. Return to Yahoo and sign in.
  3. Make sure that you're on a legitimate Yahoo sign-in page by looking for the Sign-in Seal
