What happened to PageBuilder and Yahoo Wizard tools?

On August 15, 2014, we closed PageBuilder and the Yahoo Wizard website editing tools, including AlbumWizard, PageWizard, SiteWizard, and Starter Web Page Wizard. You can no longer access PageBuilder or the Yahoo Wizard tools to edit or update your website.

What you need to do

Not much! You can still view your site, but you won't be able to edit it. If you need to make any changes to your website, you can use Yahoo SiteBuilder. Yahoo SiteBuilder will allow you to continue working on a Yahoo website created using another tool, such as Yahoo PageBuilder or any Yahoo Wizard sitebuilding tool.

Note - To use SiteBuilder you must have an account that includes Web Hosting. SiteBuilder can't be used with a Custom Mailbox or Business Mail account.

Getting started with SiteBuilder

Before you can begin using SiteBuilder, you'll need to download and install the software to your computer. For step-by-step instructions on how to download and install the Yahoo SiteBuilder software, please see our "Downloading SiteBuilder" help article.

Using a Mac? Yahoo SiteBuilder is compatible only with Windows operating systems. If you're using a Mac, you'll need to use Yahoo Site Solution to redesign your website completely. Get started in Site Solution.

Once Yahoo SiteBuilder is installed, you'll need to first import your website into Yahoo SiteBuilder before you can make any edits.

Back up your website: We recommend that you make a copy of your current website files and save them to your computer before importing your website into SiteBuilder. That way, if your site experiences any issues as you're trying to make and publish changes, you can republish the original site. If you don't already have a copy of your website, you can copy the files using an FTP program.

While importing your website pages, SiteBuilder will do its best to interpret the pages correctly, preserving the original content, formatting, and layout. However, due to variations in HTML and other site building code, SiteBuilder may not be able to translate some of your site files into a form that it can display properly.

Before republishing your site, we strongly recommend checking navigation bar links on all your pages, carefully reviewing for errors and previewing your pages.

After you've checked for errors, the final step is to publish your site with SiteBuilder.
