Signatures in Yahoo Mail

Want the emails you send to include important contact information, a meaningful quote, or a personalized message? Create a signature and express yourself.

What's a signature?

A signature is a way to include the same details on all your sent messages.

Things you can include in a signature:

  • Your name, phone number, and other contact information.
  • A link to your website.
  • A personalized note to your recipients.
  • Your latest Tweet from Twitter.

Add a signature

 Good to know - Is your signature not the right fit for an email you're sending? Just delete part or all of it before you click Send.

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon Gear Icon | select Settings.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. Click Primary Yahoo.
  4. Select "Append a signature to the emails you send."
    - You can also select "Include your latest Tweet from Twitter." The tweet can be deleted before you send a message if you don't want it included for that email.
  5. Enter your signature text in the Signature field.
  6. Click Save.

Edit a signature

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon Gear Icon | select Settings.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. Click Primary Yahoo.
  4. Make your edits in the Signature field.
  5. Click Save

Disable a signature

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon Gear Icon | select Settings.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. Click Primary Yahoo.
  4. Uncheck "Append a signature to the emails you send."
  5. Click Save.

Steps for Basic Mail

If you're in the Basic Mail interface of Yahoo Mail, you can still add, edit, and disable a plain text signature.

Add a signature

  1. Click the Settings Menu drop-down box.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click Go.
  4. Click Signature in the left column.
  5. Select Show a signature on all outgoing messages.
  6. Enter your signature in the text field.
    - Text formatting options aren't available in Basic Mail.
  7. Click Save.

Edit a signature

  1. Click the Settings Menu drop-down box.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click Go.
  4. Click Signature in the left column.
  5. Edit your signature in the text field.
    - Text formatting options aren't available in Basic Mail.
  6. Click Save.

Disable a signature

  1. Click the Settings Menu drop-down box.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click Go.
  4. Click Signature in the left column.
  5. Select Do not use a signature.
  6. Click Save.
