Manage Draft Pick Trades in Keeper Leagues

Draft Pick Trades let managers give up a draft position next season for a player on another team or swap draft positions with another manager. This adds another layer of strategic competition to your league. You'll only be able to use this feature with Live Standard and Autopick Draft types.

Turn Draft Pick Trades on or off (commish only)

If any trades are made after this feature is turned on, it can't be turned off.

  1. From Yahoo Fantasy, mouse over Fantasy | select a sport.
  2. Click the Commissioner tab.
  3. Click the League Settings tab.
  4. Click Edit League Settings.
  5. Beside "Allow draft pick trades," select Yes to turn it on or No to turn it off.
  6. Click Submit.

Propose or respond to a Draft Pick Trade

You'll use the normal process to propose or respond to trades. While Draft Pick Trades is on, a new "Draft Picks" section appears and you'll be able to select a draft pick from next season while selecting your desired players to trade.

Each trade needs to have an equal number of items traded (like 2 draft picks for 2 draft picks).

Process off-season trades (commish only)

As it gets close to draft time, you'll need replace draft picks with keeper players to process the trades and assign draft pick positions. If a team that made a trade is deleted from the league, you won't be able to import any trade picks from last season. If the deleted team doesn't have any traded draft picks, you will still be able to import traded draft picks for your league.
