Yahoo Plus Protect Home is a single solution that provides Yahoo account support, home device protection, and tech support for your eligible home devices wherever (or whenever) you bought them. So, whether it’s old or brand new, give us a call anytime one of those pesky, unexpected tech issues comes up.

What tech support is included?

Technology can be confusing… we know. Yahoo Plus Protect Home gives you immediate access to tech experts to help you solve tech issues. There’s no limit to the number of times or the time of day you can contact our experts. Tech support includes:

  • Printer issues
  • Speeding up a slow computer
  • Connecting your household WiFi
  • Setting up new devices and accessories
  • Removal of viruses, malware, and spyware
  • Wireless Home Networking - Setting up and configuring router issues
  • Setting up or troubleshooting issues with various home devices, including but not limited to:
    • Desktops, laptops, tablets, Smart TVs, game consoles, streaming devices, virtual assistants (Echo, Google Home, etc.) wearables (Fit Bit, Apple watch, etc.), thermostats, security cameras, and more.

What devices are covered under the device protection plan?

Accidents can happen to anyone. Yahoo Plus Protect Home gives you greater peace of mind knowing that your home devices are protected1. You don’t even need to worry about digging up old receipts. We will repair, replace, or even reimburse you if one of your home devices experiences a mechanical or electrical defect due to:

  • Power surge issues
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Defects in materials and/or workmanship
  • Accidental damage from handling (for some products)
What’s not covered? - Lost or stolen devices are not covered under this plan.

Home office and home entertainment eligible devices are subject to a $99 service fee. These include the following home devices:
  • Computers (laptops, desktops, tablets) 2
  • Home router (wired or wireless)
  • Printers and multifunction printers
  • LCD, Plasma or LED televisions
  • Gaming systems
  • Home theater system (could include receiver, sound bar, amplifier, subwoofer and tuner)
  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled speakers
  • Premium headsets
Other wearables and smart home devices have a $49 service fee. This includes the following devices: 
  • Smart thermostat(s)
  • Smart door lock(s)
  • Smart home security camera(s)
  • Smart video doorbell(s)
  • Smart watches
  • Health and fitness band(s)
Home devices that don't have a service fee include:
  • Speakers
  • Blue-Ray player
  • Smart device hub(s)
  • Smart light dimmer(s)
  • Smart smoke detector(s)
  • DVD players and portable DVD players
  • Audio/Video streaming devices (Excluding Verizon-branded or provided audio/video streaming devices)
1. Please note, there is a 30-day waiting period, which begins on the date of your enrollment, before you may file a claim. Access to technical support begins on your date of enrollment.
2. To be eligible for coverage under this plan, eligible products must be equipped with a Windows Operating System version Windows 7 or newer or Android version 1.6 or newer and Apple computers which are equipped with an Apple operating system version OS X (10) or newer.
