Make calls from Yahoo Messenger

 Important - No emergency calling services are available on Yahoo Messenger at this time. Call you're emergency calling services through your traditional telephone or mobile carrier.

You know you love to call your friends and family.  So why not use Yahoo Messenger and save some cash?

PC-to-PC calling is a free feature that allows you to place a call from your computer to another computer through Yahoo Messenger. There are three easy ways to place a free PC-to-PC call to another Yahoo Messenger user.

From your contact list

  1. Right click contact's name | select Start Voice Call.
    -A conversation window opens and you'll hear the call being made as Messenger attempts to connect with your friends computer.
  2. Once your friend accepts the call, you can start talking.
  3. When you're ready to hang up, select End Call.

From your Messenger menu

  1. In the Messenger window, select Actions | Start Voice Call.
    -The "call computer" dialog box opens.
  2. Contact on your Messenger list? Click the My Contacts tab and then select the person's name.
    Contact not on your Messenger list? Click the Other Contact tab and then enter the person's Yahoo ID
  3. Click OK
    -A conversation window opens and you'll hear the call being made as Messenger attempts to connect with your friends computer.
  4. Once your friend accepts the call, you can start talking.
  5. When you're ready to hang up, select End Call.

During an instant message conversation

  1. Double click a contact to start an instant message conversation.
  2. Select Voice Call.
    -A conversation window opens and you'll hear the call being made as Messenger attempts to connect with your friends computer.
  3. Once your friend accepts the call, you can start talking.
  4. When you're ready to hang up, select End Call.
