Troubleshoot and fix problems with iOS apps

If one of your Yahoo apps isn't working the way it's supposed to, use these troubleshooting steps to fix it:

Force stop and restart the app

Steps for iOS 7 and iOS 8

  1. Press your device's Home button to exit the app
  2. Press your device's Home button twice to open iOS multi-tasking
  3. Swipe right to left to find the app you want like to terminate
  4. Swipe up on the app you want to terminate
    - The app disappears from the screen
  5. Tap that app's icon on your device's Home screen to restart the app

Steps for iOS 6

  1. Press your device's Home button to exit the app
  2. Press your device's Home button twice to open iOS multi-tasking
  3. Tap and hold any of the multi-tasking app icons until all of the app icons begin to shake
  4. Tap the Close icon Red circle minus on the app you want to terminate
  5. Press your device's Home button to close multi-tasking
  6. Tap that app's icon on your device's Home screen to restart the app

Update your app

The latest version of the app will usually include fixes to known issues and/or new product features.

  1. Open this App Store Apple app store icon
  2. Tap Updates
  3. Tap Update to download the latest version of the app

If you don't see your app on the list, you're already using the latest version of the app.

Verify that your password does not contain any special characters

Some mobile devices have compatibility issues with passwords that contain special characters.

If your password has any special characters, change your password (using a desktop computer) and remove the special characters.
