Embedded images in emails don't display

If you send or receive an email with an embedded image and it's not appearing or displaying a red "X", try adding your image as an attachment instead.

Possible reasons for embedded images not showing

  • The image is in a format that can't be displayed in Yahoo Mail.
  • The HTML in the email may reference a file that isn't on the hosting server anymore.
  • The image was referenced as a relative URL. Relative URL's reference links on a directory or server that the sender can access, but the recipient can't. Receiver's won't be able to view the image unless they have access to the directory/server.
