Embedded images in emails don't display

You can embed images in to the body of an message you send from Yahoo Mail. If they don't appear at all, or display a red "X," here are some reasons why.

Possible causes

  • The image was referenced as a relative URL - A relative URL references links on a directory or server that the sender can access, but the recipient cannot. If the sender used a relative URL, then the receiver won't be able to view the image unless they have access to the directory/server.
  • The HTML in the email may reference a file that isn't on the hosting server anymore.
  • The image is in a format that can't be displayed in Yahoo Mail.

If your recipient still can't view your image, try adding your image as an attachment that they can download.
