Disposable addresses in Yahoo Mail

Disposable email addresses act as an alias to your real email for additional privacy and spam control. They consist of two parts, one base name and up to 500 keywords attached to your base name.

Create a disposable email address

Basename

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon | Settings.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Click Create base name.
  4. Enter a base name (once created, this can’t be edited).
  5. Click Create.
Keyword
  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon | Settings.
  2. Click Security | Add.
  3. Enter preferred keyword and ‘Sending Name’.
  4. Click Save.

Use your disposable email address

Sending email

  1. Click Compose.
  2. Click the drop down menu beside “From”.
  3. Select the disposable address you’d like to use.

Receiving email

Messages sent to your disposable addresses will arrive to your Inbox. If you’ve set up any filters it’ll be in the selected folder.

Edit or Delete a disposable email address

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon | Settings.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Select a disposable address.
  4. Click Edit to make changes or Remove to delete.
  5. Click Save to continue or OK to confirm.
