Create and manage folders in Yahoo Mail for Android

Stay organized and manage your folders on the go in the Yahoo Mail app. Create personalized folders and subfolders so you never have to wonder where an important email is.

  Can't find your folders? - They're now located behind the Inbox icon Image of the Inbox icon.

Add a folder

  1. Tap the Inbox icon Image of the Inbox icon.
  2. Under “Folders,” tap Create a new folder Image of the Add Folder Icon.
  3. Enter the folder name.
  4. Tap OK.

Delete a folder

  1. Tap the Inbox icon Image of the Inbox icon.
  2. Tap and hold the folder you want to delete.
  3. Tap Delete.
  4. Tap OK.

Note: A folder must be empty to be deleted.

Rename a folder

  1. Tap the Inbox icon Image of the Inbox icon.
  2. Tap and hold the folder you want to rename.
  3. Tap Rename.
  4. Enter the new folder name.
  5. Tap OK.

Create a subfolder

Create subfolders within your main folders.

  1. Tap the Inbox icon Image of the Inbox icon.
  2. Tap and hold the folder you want to create a subfolder in.
  3. Tap Create subfolder.
  4. Enter the subfolder name.
  5. Tap OK.

Note: There's no limit to the number of subfolders you can create. However, to delete the parent folder, you'll need to delete each subfolder individually.
