Report abusive images in Yahoo Groups

Do you see an image in Yahoo Groups that you believe to be inappropriate for a group you're a member of, or in violation of the Yahoo Terms of Service (TOS)? You can report images that you feel are inappropriate for your group to your group’s owner/moderators, and images that appear to violate the Yahoo TOS to Yahoo.

  Tip: These steps can only be completed on a desktop or laptop computer.

Reporting an abusive image to Yahoo

  1. Go to the Yahoo Groups page with the image in question.
  2. Mouse over the image.
  3. Click the down-arrow icon Down arrow.
  4. Click or tap the Flag icon Report abuse flag.
    • A menu opens, showing your default email address for the group you’re in.
  5. In the "Reason" field, enter a description of why you feel the content violates the Yahoo Terms of Service.
  6. Next to "Report to," select Yahoo.
  7. Click or tap Report.

Yahoo will fully review your report and take appropriate action per the Yahoo Terms of Service. However, you won’t be notified about the action taken.

Notifying a group’s owner/moderators

  1. Go to the Yahoo Groups page with the image in question.
  2. Mouse over the image.
  3. Click the down-arrow icon Down arrow.
  4. Click or tap the Flag icon Report abuse flag.
    • A menu opens, showing your default email address for the group you’re in.
  5. In the "Reason" field, enter a description of why you’re notifying your group’s owner/moderators (why the image is objectionable).
  6. Next to "Report to," select Moderator.
  7. Click or tap Report.

Your group’s owner/moderators will receive an email about your concern.

  Good to know: You may not receive any communication from your group’s owner/moderators, but they will be able to email you directly if they need to.
