Sent email stuck in the outbox in the Yahoo Mail app
The Outbox is a temporary folder that holds your outgoing emails until they can be sent. If there are any issues sending the message, it gets stuck in there. You can either delete the email or try to fix the issue causing the email to not send.
Delete an email in the Outbox
You can go to the Outbox any time there's a pending email in it. Any other time, the Outbox is hidden.
- Tap the Menu icon .
- Tap Outbox.
- Tap on the email to open it.
- Tap the Delete icon .
Fix the root cause of the sending issue
Yahoo Mail has a maximum file size of 25 MB for outgoing and incoming emails. If you've attached several files or images, you may have hit this limit.
To fix this, you'll need to delete the email (see above) and then recreate it with fewer attachments.
This happens if you have a weak (or no) internet connection or your device settings are blocking Yahoo Mail from accessing the internet.
- Test your web browser to see if you have internet access.
- If you do, check your device's help site for info on unblocking an app's internet access.
If something has corrupted the app, you can uninstall it and reinstall it to fix the issue.
If you're still unable to send after confirming the app has internet access and its been uninstalled and reinstalled, then there may be an issue on our end. You can submit a log file for further investigation.
