Understand what's changed in Yahoo Groups

Yahoo has made the decision to no longer allow content to be uploaded to the Yahoo Groups site. Don't worry, though, Yahoo Groups is not going away, new groups can still be created, and you'll still be able to interact with your groups in mostly the same way you always have.

What happened to my data on the site?

I downloaded my data but am missing some of the Group's information. How do I get that?

  • Access to download information other than photos and attachments is controlled by the administrator of each group. Photos and files can only be downloaded by the individual that uploaded them to the group.

What if I am a member of multiple Groups?

  • If all of your Groups are associated with a single Yahoo ID, then the Groups Download Manager file will include your information from all groups in a single download.

Will there be any impact on my Yahoo Mail?

No, these changes and the Groups Download Manager only apply to Yahoo Groups.

What will happen to the Groups experience?

You'll still be able to send and receive emails to your group, which will include sending and receiving attachments. In addition, admins will continue to have limited access to group settings and administration tools.

How do I stop receiving emails from Yahoo Groups?

Will email messages be monitored by Group admins?

No, Group email messages will not be moderated by Group admins. Users can report any messages that they find inappropriate.
