Yahoo Finance app for iOS

Sign in

When you sign in you can access your portfolios in the app, and sync your watchlist across all your mobile devices that have the app installed.

  1. Tap the Settings icon Three bars.
  2. Tap Sign in.
  3. Tap your Yahoo account. If you don't see your Yahoo account, tap Add Account and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check your portfolios

Don't see your portfolios? - Make sure you've signed in.

View your portfolios

  1. Tap the Portfolios icon Graphic of the portfolios icon..
  2. Tap a portfolio to view it.
  3. Swipe left, to see all data in a portfolio’s default view.

About portfolio currencies

Each portfolio will display in the currency you've set for it on the desktop Yahoo Finance site. If all of your portfolios are set to a specific currency, your holdings value total will display in that currency. Learn more about setting the currency for a portfolio.

If your portfolios are set to different currencies, your holdings value total will display in USD.

Create, edit, or delete a portfolio

You'll need to go to the Yahoo Finance website to create or edit a portfolio. To learn how to do so, check out these help articles:

Find and research a ticker

Look up a ticker

  1. Tap the Search icon Magnifying glass.
  2. Enter a ticker.
  3. Press Search.

See a ticker's key statistics

  1. Look up a ticker (steps above).
  2. Go to the bottom of the ticker's quote and tap View more data.

Compare multiple tickers' charts

You can compare the charts of up to 3 tickers.

  1. Look up a ticker (steps above), and tap it to view its quote.
  2. Tap the ticker's chart.
  3. Tap the Compare icon +, on the chart.
  4. Search for a ticker you'd like to compare, and tap it.

Follow tickers in a watchlist

Add the ticker to a watchlist

  1. Tap the Search icon Magnifying glass.
  2. Enter a ticker.
  3. Tap the Search button.
  4. Tap a ticker to view it.
  5. Tap the Follow icon Star to add it to your watchlist.

Remove a ticker

  1. Start on the "Home" tab.
  2. Tap Edit.
  3. Next to a ticker you'd like to delete, tap the Delete icon Graphic of the delete icon..

Reorder your watchlist

  1. Start on the "Home" tab
  2. Tap Edit.
  3. Tap and drag a ticker to its new position.

See percent or dollar change

  1. Start on the "Home" tab.
  2. Tap the Price Change box next to a ticker, to switch your watchlist between percent and dollar change.

Read news

There are a couple of ways you can get news.

  • Scroll down on the "Home" tab to see news about the tickers in your watchlist.
  • Tap News for broader market news that's not specific to the tickers in your watchlist.

See market data

See analysis and charts by region or market segment: tap the Markets icon Image of the Markets icon..

  • Tap U.S., Europe, or Asia to see regional indices.
  • Go to the different sections to see info about:
    • Market Movers
    • Bonds
    • Currencies
    • Commodities
    • Mutual Funds
    • ETFs

Manage notifications

You can get important notifications for the stocks you're following in your watchlist. Here's how to turn them on or off:

  1. Tap the Settings icon Three bars.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Tap the On/Off slider to turn the setting on or off.

Change your region

  1. Tap the Settings icon Three bars.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Region Settings.
  4. Tap the your preferred region and language.

Success! You'll see news and market data in your chosen language, about your chosen region.

Fix or report a problem

Fix a problem

Missing your watchlist or portfolios? Try signing out then signing back in to the app.

Report a problem

  1. Tap the Settings icon Three bars.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Report a Problem.
  4. Fill in the email with a brief description of the problem.
  5. Tap Send.

While we won't necessarily reply to each email, we review all of them and resolve reported problems.
