Find a preferred stock or warrant

Symbols for preferred stocks and warrants on Yahoo Finance differ from the symbols used on other websites. If you know the company and type of preferred stock or warrant you're looking for, here's how to look it up.

  • Warrants - [root symbol]-WT[Warrant Type]
  • Preferred stock - [root symbol]-P[Preferred Type]
  1. Start on Yahoo Finance, or in the mobile app (if available in your region).
  2. In the quote lookup box, enter the root symbol of the stock followed by a dash and either for preferred stock or WT for a warrant.
    • For Bank of America preferred stock, you'd enter: BAC-P
    • For Bank of America warrants, you'd enter: BAC-WT
  3. Enter the appropriate suffix after the dash:
    • For preferred stock, the suffix is the type of preferred stock.
ExampleL. The resulting symbol is: BAC-PL
    • For warrants, the suffix is the warrant type.
Example: B. The resulting symbol is: BAC-WTB
  4. If Yahoo Finance lists preferred stock or warrants for the root symbol, a list of suggested matches displays.
  5. Click or tap the symbol you're looking for to see the quote.
