Customize Full screen chart settings

Select chart settings that suit your needs. Choose whether to see extended hours market data, and switch between linear, logarithmic, or percentage chart scales. The chart settings you select are shared across different charts until you change the settings or the cookie maintaining the settings is cleared.

Show extended hours market data

Show data on a desktop web browser:

  1. In Yahoo Finance click on a security, index, or commodity to open its quote page.
  2. Click Full screen Graphic of the expand chart icon..
  3. Click the Settings icon Image of the settings icon..
  4. Click the Toggle icon Image of the on / off toggle icon. to turn the data on or off.
    • Off - Doesn't include transactions taking place outside normal market hours.
    • On - Includes transactions taking place outside normal market hours.

Show data on the Yahoo Finance app:

  1. From the search bar, look up a stock quote.
  2. Tap the symbol chart.
  3. At the bottom of the chart, tap the Settings icon Image of the settings icon..
  4. Tap the Toggle icon Image of the on / off toggle icon. to turn the data on or off.
    • Off - Doesn't include transactions taking place outside normal market hours.
    • On - Includes transactions taking place outside normal market hours.

Switch between a Linear or Logarithmic scale

Switch scale on a desktop web browser:

  1. In Yahoo Finance click on a security, index, or commodity to open its quote page. 
  2. Click Full screen Graphic of the expand chart icon..
  3. Click the Settings icon Image of the settings icon..
  4. Next to "Linear or Logarithmic Axis" click either Linear, Logarithmic, or Percentage.
    • Linear - Uses an absolute change scale (for example: 1 space = 1 dollar).
    • Logarithmic - Uses a percentage change scale (for example: 1 space = 1 percent).
    • Percentage - Uses a percentage change scale based on the moving average for the chart's time scale.

Switch scale on the Yahoo Finance app:

  1. From the search bar, look up a stock quote.

  4. Under "Y-axis scale," tap either Linear, Log, or Percent.
    • Linear - Uses an absolute change scale (for example: 1 space = 1 dollar).

    • Percent - Uses a percentage change scale based on the moving average for the chart's time scale.
