Create, edit, or delete Yahoo Groups

If you're looking for a place to share your interests with folks from around the world, you can create a group and then, as the owner or moderator of the group, edit your settings or change your cover image later.

Create a group

  1. Sign in to Yahoo Groups.
  2. On the left, click Start a New Group.
  3. Fill out the requested info.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select your group email preferences.
  6. Click Accept and Create.

Important - Restricted and Private groups can't be made Public later.

Edit your group

After changing your group's name or email address, any existing invitations, links, and sign-up boxes outside the Yahoo Groups interface will no longer be valid.

  1. On your group's main page, click Management | select Control Panel.
  2. Click About Group.
  3. Edit any field.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Save again to confirm.

Delete your group

Deleting your group will remove it from Yahoo Groups, unsubscribe all members, and eliminate all archives, shared files, photos, and events. Once deleted, the group cannot be restored after 15 days.

  1. On your group's main page, click Management | select Control Panel.
  2. Click About Group.
  3. Next to "Feedback," enter your reasons for deleting your group.
  4. Click Delete Group.
  5. Click Delete again to confirm.

Change your group cover image

  1. Sign in to your group.
  2. Mouse over your group's cover image.
  3. On the right, click Change Cover.
  4. Select a cover image from your computer.
  5. Drag the image to reposition it.
  6. Click Save.
