Troubleshoot and fix problems with Smart TV apps

Reinstalling the app

  1. Press the interactive TV button on your remote control to bring up the list of TV apps.
    Note: The interactive TV button will look different depending on the brand. Refer to your TV manual for more information.
  2. Use the right and left arrow buttons to select the app in the list.
  3. Press the yellow button on the remote control.
  4. Select the Delete button on the TV screen and confirm the deletion of the app.
  5. Find the app in the Yahoo Smart TV Store (called the Widget Gallery on some TVs) and reinstall.

  Did you know? Some standard apps cannot be deleted.

Turning the TV off and on

  1. Turn off the TV.
  2. Unplug the TV power source and wait for at least one minute.
  3. Plug in the TV.
  4. Turn on the TV.
  5. Press the interactive TV button on your remote control to bring up the list of TV apps.
  6. Use the right and left arrow buttons to select the app in the list.
  7. Press the Select button to launch the app.

Performing a factory reset

  Warning: You will lose TV settings when performing a factory reset, including the personalization of your apps – the list of apps you have, their signed-in state, and any other customizations.

  • Refer to your TV’s manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

Contacting the TV app publisher

  1. Press the interactive TV button on your remote control to bring up the list of TV apps.
    Note: The interactive TV button will look different depending on the brand. Refer to your TV manual for more information.
  2. Use the right and left arrow buttons to select the app in the list.
  3. Press the Select button to launch the app.
  4. Use the up and down arrow buttons to navigate to the Settings button at the bottom of the sidebar and press the Select button.
  5. Navigate to and select the About button.
