Find and remove unusual activity on your Yahoo account

Monitoring your recent login activity can help you find out if your account has been accessed by unauthorized users. Be aware that there are some legitimate reasons why your history can show unfamiliar locations, such as your mobile device detecting the wrong location or Internet provider using a proxy server.

Access your account's recent activity

From a desktop or mobile browser - Sign in and visit the Recent activity page.

From most Yahoo mobile apps:

  1. Tap the Profile icon.
  2. If using the Yahoo Mail app, tap Manage Accounts.
  3. Tap Account info.
  4. Tap Recent activity.

If these steps don't work in your app, access the Recent Activity page from your mobile browser.

Review the entries and remove suspicious activity

Depending on how you access your account, there can be up to 3 sections. If you see something you don't recognize, click Sign out or Remove next to it, then immediately change your password.

  • Recent account access changes - Shows the last 3 password changes.
  • Apps connected to your account - Apps you've given permission to access your info.
  • Recent activity - Devices or browsers that recently signed in. Select one to view available IP addresses.
