Regular season tiebreakers in Fantasy Basketball (Head-to-Head leagues)

Ties can happen. Here's how we handle them in Fantasy Basketball Head-to-Head leagues.

During the regular season

There are no tiebreakers in regular season matchups. If a Head-to-Head matchup during the regular season ends in a tie, both teams are awareded a tie in the league standings.

Ties at the end of the regular season

Two or more teams in a Head-to-Head League (no divisions) finish tied in the standings

  1. Overall winning percentage.
  2. Total Points (Head to Head - Points leagues only).
  3. Highest winning percentage in the last week of the season.
  4. Highest winning percentage in the second to last week of the season.
  5. The comparison continues until the tie is broken or no more weeks remain to compare.
  6. Random "coin flip."

Two or more teams in a division finish with the same overall record atop the division

  1. Overall winning percentage.
  2. Division winning percentage.
  3. Total Points (Head to Head - Points leagues only).
  4. Highest winning percentage in the last week of the season.
  5. Highest winning percentage in the second to last week of the season.
  6. The comparison continues until the tie is broken or no more weeks remain to compare.
  7. Random "coin flip."

Two or more division winners or any wild card teams finish with the same overall record

  1. Overall winning percentage.
  2. Total Points (Head to Head - Points leagues only).
  3. Highest winning percentage in the last week of the season.
  4. Highest winning percentage in the second to last week of the season.
  5. The comparison continues until the tie is broken or no more weeks remain to compare.
  6. Random "coin flip."

  Good to know - There aren't tiebreakers in Rotisserie or Points leagues. If teams are tied atop the standings in these league types, co-champions will be declared.
