Reminders in Yahoo Calendar

Let Yahoo Calendar remember important dates and appointments for you.

Reminders notify you of upcoming events.

You can set it up so all new events have reminders, or just set up notifications for specific events.

Configure reminders

Delivery settings

Define your default reminder options for new events.

  1. Mouse over the Settings menu icon Gear Icon | click Calendar Options.
  2. Click Reminders.
  3. Adjust your settings:
    • Time - How far in advance you'd like to be reminded.
    • Again - Set a second reminder time (optional).
    • Via - Pick how you want to be reminded.
      • Email address - Select from the email addresses associated with your Yahoo account.
      • Yahoo Messenger - Get reminders via instant message.
      • Mobile/Desktop - Send reminders to your phone, computer, or tablet using the device's native notifications system.
        - You'll need to sync your Yahoo Calendar with your device's native calendar to receive reminders this way.
    • Agenda - Receive a daily email with all the events for that day.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Back to Calendar to go back to your Yahoo Calendar.

Add an event reminder

Add a reminder to a specific event.

  1. Click on an event in the Day, Week, or Month view.
    - A pop-up window with the event's details opens.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Select a reminder time from the "Remind" drop-down list.
    - Click + to set an additional reminder.
  4. Select a delivery method:
    • Email
    • Yahoo Messenger
    • Mobile/Desktop - You'll be notified via the native notifications system on your mobile device or desktop once you've synced its native calendar with Yahoo Calendar.
  5. Click Save.

Turn off an event reminder

Delete event reminders for a specific event.

  1. Double-click an event to edit it.
  2. From the Remind menu, select No Reminder.
  3. Click Save.

Reminders not received

If you're not receiving reminders, check your account settings.

  • Accurate email address - Check the "Delivery settings" (see instructions above) to make sure the email address is accurate.
  • Spam filter - Check your spam folder for the missing reminders. 
  • Allow enough time - If you create a new reminder that's less than 15 minutes away, you won't receive one.
  • Time zone - Check your time zone settings to see if they match your location.
