Access Yahoo Mail in Windows Live Mail

Looking for an alternative to getting your email through your web browser? Yahoo Mail lets you send a copy of your email to Windows Live Mail, where you can sync all of your accounts under 1 app or read and draft messages offline. Just perform an easy configuration process to get started.

  1. Enable POP in Yahoo Mail.
  2. From Windows Live Mail, click Tools | select Accounts.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Click E-mail Account.
  5. Enter your account info:
    • E-mail address - Your full Yahoo Mail email address.
    • Password - Your Yahoo Mail password.
    • Remember password - Select this.
    • Display Name - The name on your sent messages.
  6. Select Manually configure server settings for e-mail account, then click Next.
  7. Enter our server info in the "Add email account" window:
    • Incoming server and port - Use our server settings.
    • This server requires a secure connection - Select this.
    • Log on using - Select Clear text authentication.
    • Outgoing server and port - Use our server settings.
    • This server requires a secure connection - Select this.
    • My outgoing server requires authentication - Select this.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Select Set this account as the default mail account, then click Finish.
