  2. Enter your email address or click I don't know my Yahoo email address.
  3. If you can receive text messages to the number listed, click Yes, text me.
    - Yahoo sends a verification code to your phone.
  4. Enter the verification code we sent to your phone in the field provided.
  5. Click Submit.
Important: If you close the "Code sent to my mobile phone" page, you can continue where you left off.
  6. Click Continue or you can click Create new password and update it on the spot.

Alternate email address

We'll send an email to the backup address you chose for your account.

  2. Enter your email address or click I don't know my Yahoo email address.
    - If you have a mobile number, listed on your account, that option will show.
  3. Click No, I can't receive text.
    - You'll see your alternate email address.
  4. If you have access to that email, click Yes, email me.
    - A "Recover access to your Yahoo account" email will be sent to your alternate email address.
  5. Enter the verification code we sent you, then click Submit.
  6. Click Continue or you can click Create new password and update it on the spot.

Secret questions

If you don't have secret questions on file, that reset option won't be available in Password Helper.

  1. Go to the Password Helper.
  2. Enter your Yahoo ID, then click Submit.
  3. Select Use my secret questions, then click Next.
  4. Enter the answer to your secret questions, then click Next.
  5. Enter your new password, then click Next.

After you reset your password, you'll need to update your sign-in information on your mobile apps since they won't automatically update.
