Fix video and interactive feature problems

A slow Internet connection or outdated version of Adobe Flash Player can break interactive features, videos, or games on Yahoo. Following the steps below will fix most problems with these features.

Before you try these steps, make sure you're using the latest version of any Yahoo supported browser. Outdated or unsupported browsers are known to have compatibility issues with Yahoo features.

Adobe Flash Player and network settings   

Update Adobe Flash Player

Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash player installed on your computer.

Check what version you have on Adobe's Flash Player help site.

If you don't have Adobe Flash Player, use these steps to install it:

  1. Download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
  2. Run the Adobe Flash Player installer.
  3. Follow the instructions complete the installation.

Check your Internet connection and system resources

Depending on the time of day, or the number of people connected to the network, the quality of your Internet connection can vary. Having too many things running on your computer at once can also cause problems with Yahoo pages. Check your system settings to make sure it's running smoothly. 

  • Close extra browser windows, tabs, and applications
    Having too many windows, tabs or applications open at one time can slow your system down.
  • Check your wireless network settings
    Make sure you have a strong connection. (Contact your Internet service provider if you have frequent bandwidth issues.)
