Creating User-Specific Desktop Icons

If multiple people use your computer or if you have more than one Yahoo! or Verizon Yahoo!ID, you can create a desktop icon for each user to make signing in quick and easy. Whatever options you specify on the Sign In window are built in to your desktop icon. For example, if you specify that the Browser should save your password and/or sign you in to Verizon Yahoo! Messenger, those options are activated when you use your desktop icon to sign in. With one click, you can sign in to Verizon Yahoo! and Messenger and have your whole environment available.

Here's How

  1. Sign in to Verizon Yahoo! as one of the users. (Remind me how.)

  2. Select Sign In Options from the Sign In menu.

    Select Sign In Options

The Browser Options window appears with the sign in options selected.

  3. Check the box next to Show a Desktop Icon...

    Desktop Icon option

  4. Click the OK button.

The icon appears on your desktop labeled with the user's first name and Verizon Yahoo! Username.

  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 to create each user's desktop icon.

What's Next

Once you have your own desktop icon, you can simply double-click it to sign in and open the Browser.
