Signing In Sign-In Options Creating User-Specific Desktop Icons

Signing In

You can use the Verizon Yahoo! Browser without signing in, but to take full advantage of the Browser's features, you must sign in to Verizon Yahoo!. When you are signed in, you will see these additional features:

  • Quick access to all of your Verizon Yahoo! services including your Verizon Yahoo! MailVerizon Yahoo! MessengerYahoo! Search, and much more.
  • The Verizon Yahoo! Sidebar, which gives you personalized Verizon Yahoo! content wherever you are on the web.
  • The option of signing in to all of your services with a single sign-in process.

The first time you launch the Browser, enter your sign-in information in the Sign-In window.

 

Here's How

    1. Launch the Browser.

      The first time you launch the Browser, it displays the Sign-In window, and your Verizon Yahoo! Username should be listed. Click your Verizon Yahoo! Username and skip to step 3.

    2. If you do not see your Verizon Yahoo! Username on the sign-in list list, click the Other Users button.

    3. Enter your Verizon Yahoo! Username or your free Yahoo! ID and password, check or uncheck the boxes for the options you want to apply or disable, and then click the Sign In button.

      The first time you sign in, the Auto Import Address Book and Bookmarks prompt appears.

    4. If you want to import your address book or bookmarks from other applications, click the Yes button. The imported information will be available to you only, not to other Browser users.

      If you do not want to import your address book or bookmarks from other applications, click the No button, and skip steps 5 and 6.

      If you click the Yes button, the Import window appears.

    5. Check the box next to the items you want to import. (If you are importing Netscape bookmarks, select your Netscape profile from the list.) Then click the Start Import button.

      A progress indicator appears for each option you selected to be imported.

    6. When the message indicates that the import is complete, click the Done button.

      The Browser appears, and you are signed in.

    7. The next time you launch the Browser, the Sign-In window appears automatically displaying your name in the Sign In List on the left.

    8. Select your name, and enter your password.

      • If you checked the box next to Save My Password, the Sign-In window automatically fills in your password. Just click the Sign In button.

      • If you check the box next to Sign In to Messenger, the Sign-In window automatically signs you in to Verizon Yahoo! Messenger as well as to the Browser.

    9. After you sign in and check the Add my ID to the Sign In List option, your name appears on the sign-in list. If you are not the primary account user or a sub-account user, you appear as a guest on the sign-in list.
