Searching Your Message History

The power behind your message history is the ability to search past conversations. You may consider instant messaging a casual communication tool. And it is, but you’ll also find that the ability to search for information from a past conversation can have its advantages.

 

Here’s How

  1. Open the My History tab. (Remind me how.)

  2. In the Search message history box, type one or more words that you want to find, then click the Search button or press the Enter key.

    Type one or more words in the Search message history box.

    The search results show a list of instant message conversations with the phrase you typed shown in bold.

    The search results show all instant message conversations that contain the phrase you typed.

  3. To view an entire message, click the message line in the search results.

 

What’s Next

Use the search message history feature to remind you of what you may or may not have said a few weeks ago.
