Keeping a History of Your Instant Messages

Here’s How

1. To view your history with a specific contact, do one of the following:

   • In the Messenger List, move the cursor over the name so that you see the arrow to the right of the name. Click the arrow, then select the View Message History option from the menu.

     

   • In a conversation tab with the contact, click the View more history link.

     

   The My History tab opens showing every conversation you’ve had with the selected contact while the history feature has been enabled.

2. To view a specific conversation, click the line in the My History tab.

   

   The conversation opens in the lower part of the My History tab where you can scroll and read the entire conversation you had with that contact on that day.

What’s Next

You can reply to the selected contact from the lower part of the My History tab by clicking the Reply button. You aren’t actually replying to the content of the displayed conversation, but you are starting a new instant message with the contact. Messenger archives the reply as a new conversation made on the current day.
