Renaming Contacts

When you add a contact to your Messenger List, the person’s ID displays. If you like, you can give the contact a more meaningful name.

 

Here’s How

  1. Move the cursor over the name so that you see the arrow to the right of the name.

    Move the cursor over the contact name so that you see an arrow to the right of the name.

  2. Click the arrow, then select the Rename option.

    Select the Rename option.

    The current name or ID highlights.

  3. Type a new name, the press the Enter key.

    Type a new name, then press the Enter key.

    The new contact name moves to the correct place in your list.

 

What’s Next

Change the name as often as you like. The underlying ID always remains the same.
