Working With the Spam Mail Folder

The Spam folder is a special, permanent folder for storing messages that you or SpamGuard identifies as spam.

Here’s How

  1. Open the Spam folder by clicking its name under the Folders list.

    Click the Spam folder name.

The contents of the Spam folder open on the right side of the page.

The Spam folder opens on the right side of the page.

  2. To read a message, click it’s subject text.

Click the subject text to read a message.

  3. To move one or more messages out of the Spam folder and into another folder, check the box to the left of each message, then select a folder from the Move menu.

Check the message, then select a folder from the Move menu.

Yahoo! Mail moves the selected messages to the folder of your choice.

Note: When you move a message from the Spam folder to another folder, you aren’t training SpamGuard to recognize messages of this type as not spam, so messages from this address will continue to arrive in the Spam folder. To learn about training SpamGuard, take a look at the "Training the SpamGuard Filter" task.

  4. To delete one or more messages, check the box to the left of each, then click the Delete button.

Check the messages to delete, then click the Delete button.

Tip: To delete all of the message in the Spam folder, you can also click the Empty link to the right of the folder name.

Click the Empty link to delete all of the messages in the Spam folder.

Yahoo! Mail moves the selected messages to the Trash folder.
