Using SpamGuard

Getting Started Working With the Bulk Mail Folder Setting Up the Spam Button Training the Filter Resetting the Filter

Setting Up the Spam Button

Before you begin to train the SpamGuard filter, you can specify what SpamGuard should do when you click the Spam and Not Spam buttons for particular messages.

Here’s How

  1. Go to the Spam Protection page. (Remind me how.)

  2. In the Mark Spam + Not Spam area, choose the SpamGuard options that you want.

Select neither, one, or both of the options for handling messages marked as Spam or Not Spam.

    • Add the sender’s email address to my blocked addresses list

If you select this option, when you click the Spam button, the email address of the message’s sender is added to the list of addresses from which you never want to receive mail.

    • Move the message to my Inbox

If you select this option, when you click the Not Spam button, the message is moved from the Bulk folder to your Inbox. If you don’t select this option, the message stays in the Bulk folder.

  3. Click the Save Changes button to save your SpamGuard settings.

What’s Next

Using the Spam or Not Spam buttons trains the SpamGuard filter to recognize junk mail according to your criteria.
