What if I already have a merchant bank account?

You can use an existing merchant account as long as the account is compatible with FDMS Nashville, the Yahoo! Store payment gateway. Contact your merchant account provider directly to determine if your account is compatible. There is no additional charge for using your own merchant transaction service provider. If you have a merchant account that is not compatible, you can set up to process transactions offline.

Merchants not open for business

If you are not yet open for business and you have not set up a payment method for your store, you will use the Payment Wizard to set up your existing merchant account.

To set up an existing merchant account:

  1. Ask your merchant account provider for a new MID/TID pair for your Yahoo! Store. You should ask them to use the following information in the setup:
    • Product Name: Yahoo! Store FDMS (g/w)
    • Product ID:819000
    • Vendor Name: Yahoo!
    • Vendor ID:190
(Once you have this information, you will need to sign in to your store to set up online processing.)
  2. From the Open for Business Control Panel, click Payment Methods.
  3. Click Set up My First Payment Method.
  4. Select the Yes option, select the existing business account option, and click Next.
  5. Enter your merchant account information supplied to you by your merchant account provider into the fields (see A-D Figure 1):

Figure 1: Setting up an existing merchant account

  1. Name of Bank—enter the name of your merchant bank
  2. Merchant Number—enter your merchant account number. If you have multiple accounts you need only enter the number for one.
  3. MID—enter your Merchant Identification number; valid MID and TID numbers on this platform are usually 7 digits long each (not counting any leading zeroes). MID is not the same as your merchant account number.
  4. TID—enter your Terminal Identification number
  1. Click Finish.
  2. Return to the Store Manager and publish your order settings when ready.

Note: Check that your MID and TID are accurate before you finalize the setup process.

Merchants that are open for business

To set up an existing merchant account:

  1. From Store Manager, click the "Payment Center" link under the "Order Settings" column. (You may be prompted to enter your security key to proceed).
  2. Click Add New Processor.
  3. Select the option to use your existing payment processor.
  4. Select the option to configure an existing merchant account and click Next.
  5. Follow steps 5-7 listed above to enter your merchant account information.

If your merchant account is not compatible with FDMS Nashville, you'll still be able to retrieve your orders from the Store Manager section of your site and process your transactions offline manually through the terminal or external interface provided by your merchant account provider.
