Defining Your Own Toolbar Buttons

Toolbar buttons provide useful shortcuts for actions you perform frequently and sites you visit often. You can even create two of your own buttons and the Yahoo! Toolbar gets you started with one already added to your Toolbar.

Here’s How

  1. If you haven’t done so, sign into Yahoo!

Your Toolbar has a button titled Your Own Button 1.

  2. To personalize the button, click the button’s arrow, then select Edit Button.

Click the button’s arrow, then select Edit Button.

The Your Own Button 1 page appears.

  3. Enter a name for the button and the URL you want to go to when you click the button, select the icon you want to appear on the button, then click the Save button.

Enter the button's name, URL, and select a button icon.

The new button is now ready for you to use. When you click it, the browser goes to the specified URL.

Tip: You can also navigate to the page you want to apply to the button, click the button’s arrow, and then select Use Current URL. When you next click the button, it opens that Web page.
