When you’re browsing the Internet, pop-up windows can be very distracting. Pop-Up Blocker is a feature of Yahoo! Toolbar that lets you manage pop-up windows. Pop-Up Blocker stops many types of windows that try to open automatically on top of the browser window, including:
If Pop-Up Blocker isn’t already on your Internet Explorer Yahoo! Toolbar, add it so you can block unwanted pop ups.
Notes:
Yahoo!’s Pop-Up Blocker is available only for Internet
Explorer. The Firefox browser has its own pop-up blocker, so you
don’t need the Yahoo! version.
You might want to check
your settings to see if you’re saving your changes locally
or to your Yahoo! account. If you save them to your account,
you can use your customized Toolbar on any computer.
If necessary, expand your Apps area, then click
the add button (
).


Tip: If you’ve hidden the
add button, click the settings button (
),
then select Edit Your Apps.
The browser displays the Edit Apps tab and the gallery of available Apps.
In the search box, type pop-up blocker, then click the search button.

Pop-Up Blocker displays in the results.

Click the Add button.

The Pop-Up Blocker button immediately appears at the front of My Apps.

Click the I’m Done button.

There are some types of windows that Pop-Up Blocker doesn’t block. For example, it allows windows that open because you click a link in the browser. Other types of windows that Pop-Up Blocker allows include:
