Sometimes, a picture is worth a thousand words. This may be true for you when using the Toolbar. You don’t need to see text labels, the icon says it all. Without the labels, you have more room on your Toolbar. You can hide button labels, and make a few other Toolbar adjustments.

Click the settings button (
),
then select Toolbar Preferences.

The Toolbar Settings page opens displaying the General tab.
To enable or disable a basic preference, check (to enable) or uncheck (to disable) the box to the left of the option.

Show My Apps label—shows the My Apps label next to the Apps icon.
Show green Add Apps button—shows
the add button (
)
for My Apps. When hidden, you can add Apps by going through the
settings button.
Show text labels for each app—shows the text label for each App button.
Enable Feature Tips— (IE users only) controls whether Yahoo! alerts you about helpful Toolbar features.
Enable Y! Mail Single Instance—tracks open Yahoo! Mail sessions and navigates you to those open sessions
Enable the 404 Assistant—assists you when you navigate to a page that the browser can’t find.
Automatically download and install toolbar updates— (IE users only) automatically updates Toolbar when new versions are available.
When I add an app to my Yahoo! homepage, automatically add it to my toolbar as well— controls whether Apps added to My Favorites in your Yahoo! Homepage are automatically added to your Toolbar.
Note: This only applies to Apps you add to My Favorites after you enable this feature. If you already have Apps on your homepage that you want to add to your toolbar, you need to add them by hand.
When you’re finished, click the I’m Done button.
