Adding Yahoo! Applications

What Are Yahoo! Applications? Adding a New Yahoo! Application Adding an Already Installed Yahoo! Application After You Add a Yahoo! Application Removing Yahoo! Applications

If You’re Adding an Already Installed Yahoo! Application

If you’re already using a Yahoo! Application that you installed through http://pulse.yahoo.com/y/apps, you may be able to add a small view of the same app to My Yahoo!. There are two ways to do this:

Here’s How

To add an app from the content gallery:

  1. Find the application that you’d like to install in the My Yahoo! content gallery. (Remind me how.)

Note: The My Yahoo! content gallery features many, but by no means all, available Yahoo! Applications. If you’re already using an app but you don’t find in the gallery, try adding it from My Apps.

  2. Click the Add button above the app in the gallery.

    Click the Add button.

The content gallery shows the app has been added.

The content gallery shows that the app is added.

And the app appears at the top of your My Yahoo! tab.

To add an app from My Apps:

  1. Go to My Apps by typing the URL http://pulse.yahoo.com/y/apps in your browser’s address field.

  2. On the list of apps that you’ve installed, click the Open button next to the app you want to add to My Yahoo!.

    Click the Open button.

The full view of the app opens.

  3. Click the Add Shortcut to My Yahoo! button that appears above the app.

Click the Add Shortcut to My Yahoo!.

Note: This option may not be available for all apps.

A small view of the app is added to your first My Yahoo! tab.

Note: With this method, you can’t currently choose the tab where the app should be added. If you have more than one tab, the app is always added to the first one. You can move it from there to another tab—see the Managing Content tutorial to learn how.

What’s Next

Once you’ve added a Yahoo! Application to My Yahoo!, you can treat it like any other content module: drag and drop it to another location on the tab, share it with friends, and so on. See the Managing Content tutorial for more information.
