Linking to a Web Page

A status message can include a link to a Web page. When your friends click your message, the Web page opens in a Web browser.

Here’s How

  1. Type a status message in the box below your name.

Notice the line below the box that reads link to a web page.

Tip: If you’ve already clicked outside the box, just click it again while your message is displayed, and the web link box will appear.

  2. Click the link to a web page line below the box, then type the URL for the Web page.

Click the "link to a web page" line below the box.Type the URL for the Web page.

  3. Press the Enter key or click outside the box.

When a friend clicks your message in his list, the Web page opens in his browser.

Tip: Your Windows Live™ Messenger contacts may see something different on their lists.
