Using IMVironments

What Is...Sharing an IMV

Sharing an IMVironment

You can share IMVironments with any of your Yahoo! Messenger contacts during instant messaging.

Tip: IMVironments aren’t available when you converse with contacts outside the Yahoo! network, such as your Windows Live™ Messenger contacts and your Pingbox™ visitors.

Here’s How

  1. In the conversation window, click the IMVironment button.

    Click the IMVironment button.

  2. Select an IMV from the displayed menu.

    Select from the IMV menu.

The selected IMV displays in the conversation area of the window, even if you’re already conversing with a contact.

The IMV displays in the conversation area of the conversation window.

Tip: To close the IMV, select No IMVironment from the menu.

What’s Next

IMVs are enabled by default, and turning them off (or back on) is easy. In the Messages category of the Preferences window (accessed through the Messenger menu), uncheck Enable IMVironments, and then click the OK button.
