Forwarding IMs to Your Mobile Device

Away from your computer? Having instant message withdrawals because you can’t stay connected with your friends? If you have a mobile device, you no longer need to miss those instant messages; just forward them to your device.

Here’s How

You need to register your mobile device before you can forward instant messages. While in Messenger, click the mobile phone button and follow the instructions to register your device.
  1. To always forward instant messages to your mobile device when you exit Messenger, click the mobile phone button (Mobile phone button) in the Messenger window, then select Always Sign In to (your number).

Click the mobile phone button, then select Always Sign In to (your number).

When you sign out of Messenger, your instant messages are always forwarded to your mobile device.

  2. If you want to forward messages at your discretion, ensure that Always Sign In to (your number) is unchecked, then when you want to sign out of Messenger and forward messages, select Sign in to (your number) from the Messenger menu.

Selecting this menu option signs you out of Messenger and forwards incoming messages to your mobile device. If you select Sign Out or Close & Sign Out from the Messenger menu, messages will not be forwarded.

What’s Next
