Changing the List’s Font and Text Color
You can change the font style of your Contact List. You can also change the text color of the names in your Messenger List.
Here’s How
Open the Messenger Preferences window by selecting Preferences from the Messenger menu in your Messenger window or from the Conversation menu in your conversation window.
In the Preferences window, select the Appearance category.
Under Messenger List, click the button to the right of Font and color for online contacts.
The Messenger Text Style window opens.
In the Text Style window, change the style settings you prefer, then click the OK button.
Click the OK button to close the Preferences window.
Your Contact List shows your changes. Notice that the color change is applied to the Messenger List names only.
What’s Next
If you want to return to Messenger’s original font and color, change the font to Tahoma size 8 and the color to black.
Words to Know
- Group: one or more contacts that you organize together under one unique name, similar to an email list. By default, Yahoo! Messenger adds contacts to the "Friends" group included in the application.
- Messenger List: the main part of the Contact List in Yahoo! Messenger. The Messenger List includes the contacts with whom you communicate most often.
