Keeping Up With Your Contact’s Activities

Yahoo! Updates is a service that lets you keep in touch with friends and share your interests in the world of Yahoo!. If your friend has decided to share this information with you, you can see when she’s voted on a news item, changed her avatar, and more. Messenger provides this information to you in your friend’s contact card and often shows the latest update next to your friend’s name in your Messenger List.

Here’s How

  1. To view all updates for a contact, click the contact’s display image in the Messenger List (or just place the cursor over it in compact view).

The contact card opens showing updates at the bottom of the card (if the contact is sharing updates).

  2. If the contact hasn’t written a status message, you’ll see his or her latest update near the name in your Messenger List.

An update can display near the contact name in your Messenger List.

Note: Updates display in the Messenger List for 5 days after being broadcast. After that, you can find them in the contact card (where you can always find them).

  3. You can click the update to open the related information.

Click an update’s link to open the related information.
