You can select the default ringtone that plays when you receive a call through Yahoo! Messenger. For PC-to-PC calls, you can even assign special ringtones to different contacts on your Messenger List so that you know who’s calling by the sound of the tone.
To select your default ringtone:
Open the Messenger Preferences window by selecting Preferences from the Messenger menu in your Messenger window or from the Conversation menu in your conversation window.
In the Preferences window, select the Alerts & Sounds category.
On the right side of the window under Alert me when, find and select I receive an incoming voice call.
The area below the list updates to show you a list of ringtones.
Select a ringtone in the list.

If you want to hear how the ringtone sounds, click the Play button.

To use the selected ringtone as your default, click the Set Default button.

Click the OK button.
All incoming calls use the default ringtone except for PC-to-PC calls from contact’s with their own ringtones.
To select a ringtone for a PC-to-PC call from a specific contact:
Select a ringtone for a specific contact in one of the following ways:
In the Messenger window, right-click the contact name and select a ringtone from the More Actions > Ringtone menu.
In the conversation window, select a ringtone from the Actions > Contact Options > Ringtone menu.
PC-to-PC calls from this contact use the specified ringtone. PC-to-PC calls from contacts without specified ringtones use the default ringtone.
Yahoo! Messenger comes with a few ringtone choices. For more variety, import your own.
