Inviting Friends to Use Messenger

Inviting All Your Friends

You can invite anyone with a PC, an Internet connection, and an email address to use Messenger. If you have a friend’s email address, use Messenger to send an email inviting the person to join the community of Messenger users. All you do is enter the email address—Yahoo! Messenger takes care of the rest.

One of the most efficient ways to invite your friends to use Messenger is to send an invitation to all of them at once—similar to sending an email message to a group of people. You can have Messenger search through your Yahoo! Address Book and your list of Microsoft Outlook contacts to gather a list of emails. Then, you can have Messenger send one invitation to all of your email recipients.

This process is part of Messenger’s importing contacts feature, which you can find detailed in the Adding Contacts to Your Messenger List tutorial.

What’s Next

You can also invite one person at a time to use Messenger. This approach allows you to include a personal message with the invitation.
